HomeChangelog1.28.1

TMPlayer 1.28.1

Released , for Android TV, Android phones, Windows, macOS and Linux.

What changed

  • A new Home on phone, TV and desktop: a carousel with title logos, ratings from several sites and a short overview, then Continue watching, Recently added and a row for each starred chat, ready at once from your last visit
  • Android TV speed first: no more freezes on the TV sticks, videos start sooner, even on a slow line, and the remote moves at once
  • Older TVs: installs on Android 6 and 7, so sticks such as the Fire TV Stick 4K on Fire OS 6 run TMPlayer
  • Fire TV: Dolby Vision videos that also carry HDR10+ play instead of a black screen, Dolby Vision plays as HDR10 where the TV has none, and DTS-HD MA passthrough works
  • 3D video: side by side and top and bottom videos as anaglyph, one eye in 2D, or both eyes for a VR headset or a 3D TV
  • Back always returns where you were: to a video's page after playing, to the row or tile you opened it from, and through "More like this"
  • Free up space as one review on every device: what TMPlayer uses, what is free, and one button that asks first before removing a download
  • Save to folder or to the gallery for one video or a selection, with Select all, a check against free space and progress you can cancel
  • Search keeps up with typing and shows a title once, however often it was posted
  • Pictures arrive smoothly: a soft preview first, then the sharp picture fades in
  • Appearance: your own accent colour, high contrast, a choice of typeface and a live preview
  • Subtitles: colour, edge, typeface, weight and box darkness, remembered languages per series
  • Hide a chat from TMPlayer, and one Sort and filter menu in every chat
  • Player: Even out volume on by default, clearer dialogue when surround is folded to stereo, scrub pictures while streaming, Start over on a show's page, and a clear message when a 4K video is too much for the TV
  • Android: XviD, DivX, VC-1 and Motion JPEG videos play, and the other decoder takes over by itself when one will not
  • Haptics on phones, quieter messages, trailers in your YouTube app, a lighter copy on TVs that struggle, and opt-in crash reports on every platform
