Fix a word
Three ways, from the quickest to the most useful.
-
Tell us
Say which page or screen, what it says and what it should say, in the Telegram group or in an issue on GitHub. A screenshot helps.
-
Edit the file yourself
Every language is one JSON file. The website's are in
site/i18n/, the app's incore/src/commonMain/resources/i18n/, each named after its code, such ases-419.json. Press the pencil on GitHub, change the text, and propose the change as a pull request.English is the source:
en.jsonis never translated, only the other files are. -
Review a whole language
Read the site or the app in your language from start to finish and send one list of fixes. A reviewed language is marked as reviewed, and later machine runs never overwrite it.
A few rules
Keep the braces
Words in curly braces, such as {version} or {a1}, are filled in by the app or the site. Leave them in, in whatever order your grammar needs.
Keep the names
TMPlayer, Telegram, Android TV, Fire TV, Windows, Linux and GitHub stay as they are.
Short beats literal
A button that fits is better than a perfect sentence that wraps. Say it the way the people you know would say it.
A new language
Open an issue naming the language and saying whether you can review it. A language goes on the site once almost all of it is translated.
