TMP - Telegram Media Player and TMPlayer: two different apps

Looking for TMP, the TMP app or the TMP APK for your TV? TMP - Telegram Media Player is an app by the developer T.M.P. TMPlayer is a different, unrelated app that does a similar job: it plays the videos in your own Telegram chats on a TV. This page sets the two side by side, from TMP's own store listings.

Updated

What TMP - Telegram Media Player is

TMP (package com.tmp.com) signs in to your Telegram account on a TV and lets you browse your chats, groups and channels and play their media with the remote. Its listing says it holds no content of its own and shows only what is in the chats you joined, with items up to 2 GB.

It was first listed on the Amazon Appstore on 25 September 2020, and was on Google Play too. Its Amazon listing says it works with the Fire TV voice remote and with game controllers, in English and Hebrew. A Xataka Android guide of January 2025 still suggested it as the way to see only the media in your chats.

Where TMP stands now

  • Google Play: its page for com.tmp.com answered "not found" on 19 October 2026.
  • The last Google Play listing the Wayback Machine kept, from 7 December 2020, showed version 10.0.21, updated on 6 October 2020, with 10,000+ installs.
  • Amazon Appstore: still listed on 19 October 2026, as version 10.0.25, rated 2.2 out of 5 from 3,219 ratings.
  • The newest version we found is 10.0.25, dated 3 December 2021 on APKPure, whose note reads "Fixed login error UPDATE_APP". We found nothing newer, and we did not test whether it still signs in.

TMPlayer is not TMP

TMPlayer is not a new version, a fork or a rename of TMP, and its developer has no connection with T.M.P. It is open source, made by dracu-lah, and its downloads come only from tmplayer.org and its GitHub releases. Two apps with close names are easy to mix up, so check the developer before you install either one.

Where TMP - Telegram Media Player is fine, or better

Older TV boxes

TMP's listings ask for Android 5.0. TMPlayer needs Android 8.0 or newer, or Fire OS 7 on a Fire TV, so a very old box may run TMP and not TMPlayer.

In Amazon's own store

On a Fire TV, TMP still installs from the Amazon Appstore. TMPlayer is installed once with the Downloader app, then offers its own updates.

Hebrew

TMP's Amazon listing names English and Hebrew. TMPlayer comes in 21 languages, and Hebrew is not one of them yet.

Photos and files

TMP's listing offers the files and photos in your chats as well. TMPlayer lists their videos and audio only.

Moving to TMPlayer

  1. Install TMPlayer

On an Android TV or Google TV, install the free Downloader app, type tmplayer.org/apk into it and allow the install. On a Fire TV, turn on Developer options first. On a phone or computer, take the file from the download page.

  2. Sign in with a QR code

Open TMPlayer and scan its code with Telegram on your phone: Settings, Devices, Link Desktop Device. You can also sign in with your phone number.

  3. Nothing to carry over

Your chats and their videos are in your Telegram account, not in either app, so they are all there. If you no longer use TMP, remove it, and end its session in Telegram under Settings, Devices.

Questions people ask

Is TMPlayer the same as TMP - Telegram Media Player?

No. TMP - Telegram Media Player is an app by T.M.P, first listed in 2020. TMPlayer is a separate, open source app by dracu-lah, with its own code. Neither is made by Telegram.

Where can I download the TMP APK for Android TV?

TMP's Google Play page was not found on 19 October 2026, so for an Android TV it is now only on third-party APK sites, which we do not link as downloads. Its Amazon Appstore listing was still up for Fire TV. If what you want is the videos in your Telegram chats on a TV, TMPlayer's own APK is at tmplayer.org/apk, built by GitHub from public code.

Is there a TMP TV app for Fire TV?

Yes: TMP - Telegram Media Player was listed on the Amazon Appstore on 19 October 2026, as version 10.0.25. TMPlayer also runs on a Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube or Fire TV Edition television with Fire OS 7 or newer, installed with the Downloader app.

Is the TMP app still updated?

The newest version we found is 10.0.25, dated 3 December 2021, and its Google Play page is gone. We did not test whether it still signs in today.

Does TMPlayer play TMP live streams or live TV?

No. TMPlayer plays the videos already posted in your own Telegram chats and channels. It does not play live TV, Telegram live streams or video chats, and it offers no channels or videos of its own.
